"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."
This portrait of Alice Liddell, of Wonderland fame, is one of the first drawings I did in my current style. I completed it as part of a project for my A.P. Art Studies class way back in high school. It is also one of the first images for which I used a computer to "correct" errors from the original drawing. Originally, in the cracked mirror behind her there was a reflection of the bushes that Alice was standing in front of in the photograph I was using as a model. Only after I had put the original drawing on display in a show, did I realize that the bushes-in-the-mirror thing just didn't work.
